Brian Lajda
Candidate for Southgate Recreation & Park District Board – Division 4
Safe Parks. Strong Families. Responsible Leadership.
Southgate's parks are where our children play, our families gather, and our community comes together. I'm running for the Southgate Recreation & Park District Board because I believe every resident deserves clean, safe, and well-maintained parks, quality recreation programs, and leadership that is transparent, accountable, and focused on serving the community.
Meet Brian Lajda,
Public service has been the foundation of my career and my life.
I have served the people of California in several state government roles, including Key Data Operator, Tax Program Technician, Supervisor/Manager, and Information Systems Analyst. These positions have given me extensive experience in budgeting, operations, technology, leadership, and responsible stewardship of public resources.
Today, I proudly serve our community through Elk Grove Unified School District's Food and Nutrition Services, helping support students and their success every day.
Service doesn't end with my job. I have volunteered with Loaves & Fishes, the Boys & Girls Club, and the Sacramento Food Bank because I believe strong communities are built by neighbors helping neighbors.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, I worked alongside others to distribute meals to students and families, ensuring children continued to receive nutritious food during an unprecedented time. That experience reinforced my belief that public service means showing up when your community needs you most.
My Priorities
Safe and Well-Maintained Parks
Every family deserves parks that are clean, safe, and inviting.
I will work to:
Improve park maintenance.
Support timely repairs to playgrounds and park facilities.
Encourage clean parks, safe walking paths, and welcoming public spaces.
More Recreation for Everyone
Our parks should serve every generation.
I support:
Affordable youth sports and recreation.
After-school and summer programs.
Activities for seniors and adults.
Inclusive programs for people of all abilities.
Responsible Financial Stewardship
Taxpayer dollars should be managed carefully.
I will:
Promote transparent budgeting.
Support responsible spending.
Pursue grants and partnerships that improve parks while protecting local resources.
Listening to Our Community
Good decisions begin by listening.
As your Board Director, I will:
Be accessible and responsive.
Hold regular community listening sessions.
Visit parks throughout Division 4.
Make decisions based on community input and facts.
Why I'm Running
I'm not running because I'm a politician.
I'm running because I believe our parks are one of our community's greatest assets. They should be safe, well cared for, and available for everyone to enjoy.
With decades of public service, leadership experience, and a lifelong commitment to serving others, I'm ready to bring thoughtful, accountable leadership to the Southgate Recreation & Park District Board.
Get Involved
Together, we can build stronger parks, stronger neighborhoods, and a stronger community.
I would be honored to earn your support and your vote for Southgate Recreation & Park District Board, Division 4.
